Industrial Reverse Osmosis Systems
Engineering, system design, equipment supply, installation, start-up, and ongoing maintenance for commercial, institutional, and industrial process-water applications.
From project requirements through long-term operation. Eclipse supports facilities across Ontario, with Canada-wide project support.
Discuss an Industrial RO Project
Industrial RO systems designed around the application
An industrial reverse osmosis system should be selected for the water a facility needs to produce, the source water available, and the conditions under which the system must operate. Eclipse works with facility and engineering teams to establish the project requirements, develop the treatment approach, supply equipment, and plan installation, start-up, and ongoing service.
Industrial RO can support process-water production, utility and boiler-feed pretreatment, rinse applications, or pretreatment ahead of deionization and other polishing. Residential under-sink, countertop, and whole-home drinking-water systems are outside Eclipse's scope.
1. Engineering and system design
Develop a design basis from the application, required water quality, feed-water analysis, average and peak demand, operating schedule, and site constraints. Evaluate the RO configuration and the role of pretreatment and downstream equipment.
2. Equipment supply and integration
Define the system and associated treatment equipment for the project scope, including relevant pretreatment, pumps, instrumentation, controls, storage, and polishing. Document design assumptions and facility interfaces for review.
3. Installation and start-up
Plan equipment installation and start-up around the agreed scope and site conditions. Review operating requirements and the available system readings with facility personnel as the system is placed into service.
4. Ongoing maintenance and support
Support continued operation through performance review, membrane cleaning, pretreatment and dosing review, troubleshooting, and replacement planning. The maintenance approach is matched to the installed equipment and operating needs.
What goes into an industrial RO design?
System selection depends on actual source-water conditions and the facility's required water quality and demand. A project review can consider:
- Feed-water source, representative analysis, and expected variation
- Required permeate quality, daily volume, peak flow, and operating hours
- Pretreatment needs, membrane protection, and downstream polishing
- Recovery objectives, concentrate flow, and disposal constraints
- Available utilities, footprint, storage, access, and maintenance needs
- Instrumentation, controls, operating readings, and service requirements
These inputs help establish design assumptions and compare proposals on a consistent basis. See our industrial RO system planning guide for a practical project checklist.
New system projects and existing RO service
Whether the facility is planning a new system, upgrading an existing treatment train, or addressing an operating issue, the next step depends on the project requirements and available system information.

Frequently asked questions
Does Eclipse provide complete industrial RO systems?
Yes. Eclipse can support industrial, commercial, and institutional RO projects through engineering and system design, equipment supply, installation and start-up, and ongoing maintenance. The project scope is developed around the application, feed-water analysis, water-quality target, and operating requirements.
What information is needed to design an industrial RO system?
A representative feed-water analysis, required permeate quality, average and peak demand, operating schedule, intended application, and site constraints help establish a suitable design basis. Existing pretreatment, utilities, concentrate handling, storage, and downstream treatment should also be reviewed.
What applications use industrial reverse osmosis?
Industrial RO may be used for process water, utility and boiler-feed pretreatment, rinse water, and as pretreatment ahead of deionization or other polishing. The appropriate system and treatment train depend on the facility’s water analysis and requirements.
Does Eclipse install and start up industrial RO systems?
Eclipse can provide installation and start-up as part of an agreed project scope. Site conditions, equipment configuration, and commissioning requirements are reviewed during project development.
Does Eclipse maintain industrial RO systems after installation?
Yes. Ongoing maintenance can include performance review and normalization, membrane cleaning, pretreatment and chemical dosing review, troubleshooting, and replacement planning, based on the system and service scope.
Does Eclipse serve residential RO customers?
No. Eclipse focuses on industrial, commercial, and institutional process-water and high-purity systems, not under-sink, countertop, or whole-home drinking-water RO.
